Kerry Mullagan
teaches creative dance and ballet. She is a new and welcome
addition to our teaching staff in 2005.
Kerry began dancing at the age of six. She trained with
Roseanne Bruno in New Jersy, and at American Academy of Dance under the
direction of Angela Jackson and Barbara LeGault in Houston. She
later joined the
pre-professional training company Houston Dance Theatre under the
tutelage of Ms. Jackson and Ms. LeGault, where she performed such roles as the Dew Drop Fairy, Snow Queen
and Sugar Plum Fairy in the Nutcracker, and principal roles such as
Little Red Riding Hood in The Sleeping Beauty, Four Little Swans and
Odette in Swan Lake, and the Flower Girl in Gaite Parissienne.
She spent summers training with the Joffrey Ballet School, Alonzo
King's Lines Contemporary Ballet, and overseas.
After high school, Kerry began teaching and free
lance dancing professionally in such principal roles as Swanhilda in
Coppelia, Princess Fluorine (the Blue Bird Pas de Deux) in The
Sleeping Beauty, Clara and the Snow Queen Pas de Deux in the
Nutcracker. She is devoted to educating children in the
beloved art of dance and she teaches at many schools in the
Houston area, which she finds very rewarding. |
